Hosted by Founder and Grammy-award winning songwriter, Steve Vaus, the 2015 Carols By Candlelight concert once again featured an impressive roster of entertainers.  Along with country pop sensation Lonestar, the stage at Escondido’s Center for the Performing Arts was graced by the amazing talents of performers Anna Vaus, Mary James, Jamie O’Neal, Andy Griggs, and Noah Guthrie.

For the fourth consecutive year, Event Wave’s General Manager and Chief Audio Engineer Peter Carpentier was asked to handle the sound design and house mixing duties for the event.  Says Carpentier, “we decided to use a ground stacked array of our JBL Vertec 4886s with companion subs (VT4883s) to cover the floor section of the theater, and use the house system to cover the extensive three tiered balcony sections”. In addition, Event Wave provided a Yamaha CL5 monitor console, 8 Shure PSM900 IEM units and 12 channels of Shure ULX-D digital wireless mics.  The six stereo in-ear mixes and twelve stage wedges were deftly mixed by monitor engineer Nowell Helms.

As always, the net proceeds from the event were donated to Rady Children’s Hospital.  Asked for comment on this year’s show, Vaus stated, “Since founding Carols by Candlelight 26 years ago my focus has always been to stage a first-class concert that successfully raises money for Rady Children’s Hospital. In recent years our sound has been world-class thanks to Event Wave’s support and having Peter at the controls.”
