Event Wave provided system design, equipment rental, and engineering services for the 2018 Makers Conference, produced by The Trillium Creations. After three years in Rancho Palos Verdes, the conference moved in 2018 to the chic NeueHouse Hollywood Studio, prompting a new audio system design.
Using L-Acoustics Soundvision to create a 3D acoustical model of the venue, precise coverage was calculated to ensure every seat in the venue received clear and impactful audio. Kiva II arrays were chosen for their low-profile form factor, even coverage and high fidelity. Kiva II’s adjustable, and predictable, vertical dispersion angles allowed coverage from the two compact arrays to evenly cover the temporary stadium seating risers brought in for the conference.
Clear-Com HelixNet wired intercom and FreeSpeak II wireless intercom systems were deployed for production communications. Strategic placement of Clear-Com’s FreeSpeak II transceivers allowed the event team to maintain interference-free dialog while freely roaming throughout the auditorium, green room, and the press tent outside of the building.
Shure ULX-D digital wireless microphones provided crystal-clear and rock-solid audio from over 60 presenters, performers, thinkers, and leaders. Separate PA and broadcast mixes were delivered using Yamaha CL series digital consoles combined with a Dante digital audio network.
